Modifying Feature Lists

A feature list determines exactly what a user sees when they log in to their control panel. You might want to hide advanced tools for new users or add new services for premium clients. Editing these lists ensures that all accounts linked to that plan get the updates immediately.

This process is very efficient because you do not have to change every account one by one. The system synchronizes the changes across the entire server automatically.

Steps to Edit a Feature List

You can find the management options inside the Packages section of your WHM dashboard. The interface allows you to toggle features on or off using simple checkboxes.

Follow these instructions to update your current settings.

  • Go to the search box at the top left of WHM and type the word package.
  • Click on the Feature Manager option that appears in the menu results.
  • Find the Manage feature list dropdown menu and pick the list you want to change.
  • Press the Edit button to load the full list of available cPanel tools.
  • Tick the boxes to add new tools or uncheck them to hide features from your users.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button to store your new settings.

Will my users see the Feature list changes right away?

Yes the cPanel interface updates for every user as soon as you click save. They might need to refresh their browser page to see the new icons or see the old ones disappear. No server restart is required for this process.

Can I rename an existing feature list?

No you cannot rename a list once you have created it in WHM. You must create a new list with the correct name and select the desired features again. Then you can delete the old list if you no longer need it.

Does editing a feature list affect the website performance?

No changing the feature list only affects the tools available in the cPanel dashboard. It does not change how the website loads or how the server handles traffic. It is purely a management setting for the user interface.

What happens if I uncheck a feature that is currently in use?

The user will lose access to that tool in their cPanel immediately. For example, if you disable the File Manager, they can no longer manage files through the browser. However, their existing files on the server will remain perfectly safe.
