How To Use The Feature Manager In WHM?

The Feature Manager in WHM works like a special control panel for deciding what your users can access inside their cPanel. It gives full power to the hosting provider to enable only specific tools. Thus, it helps in creating different sets of features for different types of hosting packages.

Each set of features is called a Feature List. You can make many such lists and connect them to the hosting plans you offer. This gives full flexibility in managing what your customers get with each package. Also, it makes it easy to create custom plans for different needs.

Moreover, the Feature Manager supports you in scaling your web hosting business smoothly by adjusting the Feature List as needed. It also makes sure that users only see what they actually need. That creates a better experience and keeps things safe as well.

How to Handle Feature Lists in WHM Like a Pro

You can create your own feature list, edit it later or remove it if it is not required anymore. Everything is inside WHM and just needs a few clicks. Let’s understand how you can do all of these –

Find the ‘Feature Manager’ option.

It stays on the left-hand side of the WHM dashboard, under the Packages section. Once you see it, click on it to enter the area where you can create and manage your own feature lists.

Make a New Feature List

  • You have to type a name in the box where it asks for a list name.
  • Once you give the name, click on the button that says Add Feature List.
  • After that, WHM will take you to a screen where you see all the cPanel features in a big list. All of them are unticked in the beginning. You can tick the boxes beside the features you want to allow. If you want to allow every feature, then just tick the top box that selects all features in one go.
  • After choosing what you need, click on the Save button to finish creating your custom list.
  • This new feature list will now be saved under a name that joins your cPanel reseller username with Main at the end. It becomes easy to recognise which one belongs to your account.

Edit a Feature List

You don’t need to start all over again. Just go back to the Manage Feature List dropdown. Pick the name of the list you want to change. Then press the Edit button.

You will see the same list of features again. Tick or untick whatever you want to change.

After finishing your selection, click Save again. Your list will now be updated with the new changes.

Delete a Feature List

In case a feature list is not needed anymore, you can delete it too.

Go to that same dropdown in the Manage Feature List area. Select the list you want to remove. Then press the Delete button. WHM will delete the list and show a success message on the screen.
