Create, Edit and Delete DNS Records in the Local DNS
Create a DNS record in Windows DNS Server:
- Open Server Manager → Tools → DNS.
- In DNS Manager, expand your server and select the desired zone (e.g., yourdomain.local).
- Right-click the zone → New Host (A or AAAA) or select other record types (CNAME, MX, TXT).
- Fill in the required fields (Name, IP Address, etc.).
- Click Add Host and then OK.
Edit a DNS record in Windows DNS Server:
- Open DNS Manager.
- Navigate to the zone and find the record you want to edit.
- Right-click on the record → Properties.
- Update the necessary fields (e.g., IP address or hostname).
- Click OK to save changes.
Delete a DNS record in Windows DNS Server:
- Open DNS Manager.
- Navigate to the zone and locate the record you want to remove.
- Right-click on the record → Delete.
- Confirm deletion when prompted.
